Everyday Winter Shoes That Aren’t Boots or Sneakers – 2026!

Last year, you really liked our post on non-boot winter shoes, so we’re back with a refreshed list for 2026!

Are you looking for winter shoes that aren’t tennis shoes or boots? We both live on the West Coast, so we don’t have to worry about snow on a regular basis, so we are talking about everyday shoes to wear around town that work with or without socks (we do like to keep our feet warm) that aren’t tennis shoes or boots, and look more dressed-up than sneakers. This is NOT easy. But we’ve done the research, tried on the shoes, and are ready to share the results/suggestions:

Jo bought these Freda Salvatore loafers last year and loves them, especially in the Espresso color, which goes with brown and black.

The Marlowe Loafer: From Margaux NY, a very simple classic choice. If you are new to Margaux, it was started by 2 women, friends at Harvard, who were determined to make a stylish AND comfortable shoe.

Jamie Haller Loafers: Still ALL THE RAGE and for good reason. Jo tried on every single loafer, and they are incredibly comfortable! Available in leather, suede, ponyhair, and many colors. They frequently run out of stock, so make sure to put your name on their mailing list for up-to-the-minute stock lists.

Gucci Loafers: The ultimate classic loafer with its iconic horse bit. They will last a lifetime and are very comfortable!

Velvet Mary Jane: Available from SeeVees – Jo’s daughter has a pair and loves them – or from the Spanish brand Flabelus – we love these blue ones to pair with jeans! Flabelus runs small, so size up. SeeVee runs true to size.

A leopard ballet flat is a fun addition to jeans, black pants, etc. Leopard is a neutral!

Birkenstock Zermatt Wool Felt Shearling Clogs: We had to include a Birkenstock because we love the Gzieh sandal so much! This fur-lined slide/clog is perfect for winter!
