2026: Our Favorite Substackers to Follow

Those of you who receive our email directly in your inbox may not realize it has been delivered via Substack. Substack is an online platform that allows writers and content creators (like FabList) to publish newsletters and build a subscription-based audience (either free or via paid subscription). We offer our Substack newsletter twice a week for free, however, if you like our content and would like to support us, click here to do so. Thank you!

We like Substack because users (like you) can easily explore and access great content from a huge variety of publishers, all in one place. Plus, you can chat with other readers as well as the authors. Below is a list of some of our favorite Substack publishers (we tend to focus on fashion/lifestyle, but people write on all topics). We invite you to explore and follow/support these, or others that interest you!

Our Faves:

  • ScratchPad by Grace Atwood: Fashion and Lifestyle newsletter/blogger based in Charleston.
  • Earl Earl by Laurel Pantin: Very hip LA-based Fashion/Shopping/Stylist tastemaker who has a great voice, as well as style.
  • Girls of a Certain Age by Kim France : Fashion newsletter by the 61-year-old former editor of Lucky magazine.
  • Homeward by Amanda Hesser: Amanda (the editor of the NYT Cookbook and founder of Food52) and her husband bought a home in Ojai, California (they live in Brooklyn), and her Substack documents their renovation and relocation journey.
  • Club Yolo byYolanda Edwards: Travel intel and inspiration.
  • The Styled Life by Hardie Cobbs: Hardie is a friend of FabList, and you can read our interview with her here. Her Substack focuses on style coaching to help women in midlife align who they are with how they show up. It offers practical style guidance + honest conversations.
