Trader Joes is where I do the bulk of my grocery shopping. It’s convenient, it has what I need, the prices are good, I often bump into friends, and everyone who works there is so nice! But beyond groceries (Frozen garlic cubes! Dark chocolate raisins! Elote chips!….all so good!), their selection of beauty/skincare items is really good! Below is a list of items that I always have on hand from TJ’s, with the exception that a couple are limited run products or can be out stock at times. I am not an expert in beauty products, but just want to share what I use/like.
TJ’s website doesn’t sell products – it just gives descriptions of some of them. Those products below that have descriptions on their site have been linked. Many of these beauty products are actually scooped up by resellers who then jack the price way up and put them on Amazon or eBay, but didn’t want to link to those accounts.
Ulta Moisturizing Hand Cream $4.99
This is a staple in my car and on my desk. This stuff is thick (comes out in a stiff ‘tube’) and it moisturizes my hands like nothing else! There is also a rose scent, but I like the original.
Brazil Nut Body Oil (Limited Time Product!) $5.99
I wrote about this one in my body oil blog as well. It’s new and it’s a limited-run product so I just stocked up the other day as when it’s gone…it may be gone! SO much cheaper than any other body oil, and although it’s a bit ‘thinner’ than some that I love, it’s really a great product, especially for the price. Put it on when you’re damp after a shower and let it soak in. They have a body butter in the same fragrance you can partner it with (I’ve never used it so can’t comment on it).
Lavender Salt Scrub $5.99
I have used, and loved, this product for years. When you open it the oil is sitting on top of the salt so you have to mix it up a bit. Then in the shower you take a bit and scrub it with your hand wherever you are feeling dry. The salt sort of exfoliates you and the oil leaves you super moisturized (even more than a regular body oil would ). And it smells great. Highly recommend.
Vitamin C Firming Cream with Glycolic Acid $6.99
This product is supposedly a dupe for the very popular Sol De Janeiro Bum Bum Cream ($48 for same size!). It has a strong citrus smell and is said to firm you up. Not sure if it does that (some reviewers said it works better than the Bum Bum cream however) but it does moisturize really well and if you like citrus scent (I do) then this is for you!
Shea Butter and Coconut Oil Hair Mask $3.99
Another product I’ve used for years and love. When my hair needs extra conditioning I put this on and let it soak in for a bit. It works!
Daily Facial Sunscreen $8.99
This one was sold out for months, and then our local store started holding it in customer service only so people could be limited to how many tubes they could buy! It’s a dupe Supergoop!® Unseen Sunscreen ($38 for the same size) and apparently the TJ’s product contains the same active ingredients and just varies a bit on the inactive ingredients. I was a big fan of Supergood Unseen Sunscreen for my kids in particular as when you put it on it’s like almost a gel that’s not sticky or noticeable and feels nice on vs icky. This one feels the same way, at much less cost.
Refresh Citrus Body Wash $2.99
This is a fresh-smelling, good body wash at a great price.
Marula Face Oil: A .85-ounce bottle costs $6.99
I have used this on occasion, but am not a regular user. But I wanted to include it because if you are in the market for a Marula Face oil just know that this one is 100% Marula oil and as a point of comparison, the Drunk Elephant product will cost you about $38 for a bottle half as big.
