Now that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is in full swing, we spent a few days in the dressing room trying on some items from our previous FabList of Anniversary Sale products (you can read that here).
As expected, some of our original recommendations are already sold out, so we tried on a whole new batch of items, many of which are under $100, that were still in stock as of yesterday.
To give you an honest look, we took our own photos so you can see the fit on a normal human body instead of a 6-foot-tall model. Taking these photos definitely pushed us out of our comfort zone, but we wanted you to see how the pieces actually look and fit before you buy them.

Women’s Tops:
Frame The Easy Wool Blend Crewneck Sweater: $265.99, after sale $398. This was a surprising win; the material is so soft, and it paired well with jeans and trousers. The dropped shoulders and elbow-length sleeves make it extremely wearable.
Nordstrom Cashmere V-Neck Cardigan: $132.99, after sale $199. We love the look of a V-Neck Cardigan on its own, no shirt underneath. This one is the perfect length and comes in four great colors.
Nordstrom Puff Sleeve Short Sleeve Cashmere Sweater: $98.99, after sale $149. We picked this up on a whim and ended up liking it for the little details, like the elbow-length sleeves and the puff-sleeved detail.
Frank & Eileen:
Frank & Eileen Patty Popover Henley Top: $109.99, after sale $168.00. This is one of Frank & Eileen’s top sellers, and it’s a nice change from a plain T-shirt. The longer arms cover up the flabby bits!
Frank & Eileen Westport Wide Leg Pants: $198.99, after sale $298. These are the classic Frank & Eileen pants that never go out of style and almost never go on sale!
Frank & Eileen Ruffle Collar Relaxed Button Up Shirt: $178. This isn’t on the Anniversary sale, but it is on sale! Frank & Eileen products are a little pricey, but we’re here to tell you that the fabrics and cuts are worth it. This button-up has a little extra something with its ruffle collar and raw hem.
Women’s Pants:
Reiss Priya High Waist Flare Leg Pants: $182.99, after sale $275. LOVE! What you can’t see in the online photo are the patch pockets on the front and back. That, coupled with the high waist, slight flare, and super soft fabric, made these a favorite.
Wit & Wisdom Ultra Skyrise High Waist Relaxed Stretch Cotton Pants: $49.99, after sale $78. The drawcord belt caught our eye on these easy-to-wear utility-inspired high-waist pants cut from stretch-cotton twill.
Vince Mid Rise Crop Flare Pants with Side Split Hem: $264.99, after sale $398. If you are a fan of the $860 High Sport Kick Pant, these are similar. They feel like you’re wearing a yoga pant, but they’re made with an Italian cotton-and-nylon-blend stretch fabric, have a hidden zipper, and are finished with pintucks down the legs.
Women’s Jeans:
Veronica Beard Taylor High Waist Wide Leg Jeans: $233.99, after sale $348. Veronica Beard makes great pants that hug and don’t hug in all the right places!
Kut from the Kloth Kelsey High Waist Raw Hem Kick Flare Jeans: $75.99, after sale $114. These soft, stretchy denim jeans have a vintage-look faded wash and utilitarian front pockets and are super comfortable. Kut jeans run large, so size down.
Kut from the Cloth Natalie Low Rise Bootcut Jeans: $72.99, after sale $109. We loved these dark wash jeans for casual or dressier occasions. Bootcut, made from low-stretch denim with a low-rise waist and floor-sweeping hems. Kut jeans run large, so size down.
Frame The Borrowed Jean: $171.99, after sale $258. We’ve tried on lots of jeans, and this pair was an immediate yes. They are the perfect combo of slim and slouchy and are made from low-stretch denim that will break in nicely with wear. The description says “distressed”, but the distress is minimal.
Cinq a Sept Sallie High Waist Ankle Wide Leg Jeans: $196.99, after sale $295. These were a fun surprise and were an instant contender. Made from a dark stretch denim, the pants feature a five-pocket design (with back patch pockets), contrast topstitching, and a big hem, which we really liked for something different. The leg was not too wide, like some of the huge bellbottoms we tried on.
Women’s Blazers/Jackets:
Vince Suede Barn Jacket: $1,099.99, after sale $1648. Wow, this jacket is beautiful. An elevated riff on the traditional barn jacket in a soft green suede, a color of the fall season.
Reiss Solene Houndstooth Check Wool Blend Jacket: $329.99, after sale $495. This is that blazer you can throw on and instantly feel fashionable. It’s structured, but the wool is super soft so it doesn’t feel boxy. The one in the photo above was a little big—they didn’t have a smaller size in store.
Women’s Outerwear:
Fleurette Ali Wool Peacoat: $599.99, after sale $895.00. We love a pea coat, and this has a good, classic design. It runs a little small, so we’d size up. It’s also available in a cropped version (second photo above), which we also liked.
Barbour Gosford Quilted Jacket: $199.99, after sale $320. This little Barbour coat is a nice riff on the more traditional, longer quilted coat with its boxy fit and unquilted patch pockets. Runs a little small so we’d size up.
Vince Tailored Longline Raincoat: $329.99, after sale $598. This was an immediate win, with an oversized Columbo vibe. The back pleat sealed the deal.
Reiss Rene Wool & Cashmere Blend Coat: $399.99, after sale $598. We passed on this online, but loved it in person. The material is so soft, and it drapes easily. Wear belted or unbelted. This is a coat you’ll have forever.
Rains Bold Waterproof Raincoat: $129.99, after sale $195. Rains is a FabList favorite, and we liked this bold shiny black take on their classic slicker.
Women’s Dresses/Skirts:
Halogen Denim Dress: $72.99, after sale $109.99. FabList can’t pass up a denim dress. We didn’t gravitate to this online, but we really liked it in person. The soft denim material, top stitching, three-quarter sleeves, and a slight A-line make this a great throw-on-and-go dress.
Halogen Tie Waist Cotton Shirtdress: $78.99, after sale $119. Another Halogen dress we scrolled by online, yet liked once we put it on. The belt is built in, so it ties nicely. Available in Coffee or Sage.
Women’s Lingerie:
Chantelle Soft Stretch Hipster Panties: 3 for $42. $15.99 each, after sale $22. Jo’s go-to choice in a variety of cuts: hipster, high waist, and bikini. Don’t worry – no photos of us trying these on!
Chantelle Norah Comfort Underwire Bra: $57.99, after sale $88. One of Jo’s go-to bras.
Chantelle C Magnifique Nouveau Full Coverage Underwire Bra: $54.99, after sale $84.00. We just tried this on, and it’s now added to the rotation since we found it fit so well.
Natori Feathers Underwire Contour Bra: $47.99, after sale $72. This is a great T-shirt bra—good at lifting and separating.
Assorted 3-Pack Colorblock Ankle Socks: $31.99, after sale $42. The best socks for working out, and we can always use fresh socks!
Nordstrom Gingham Cotton Pajamas: $56.99, after sale $85.00. The name of the product says Gingham, but they are just plain white and just plain cute!
Nordstrom Cotton Poplin Pajama Pants: $32.99, after sale $49.00. These are a nice, thicker (non-see-through) cotton that can also be worn lounging around. We love a gingham print.
Women’s Activewear/Loungewear:
Zella Short Sleeved Breath Performance Tee: $29.99, after sale $45. This was our favorite sports T-shirt. Not too cropped, and the arms are wide and longer than most tees. Available in 6 great colors.
Zella Skyline Quilted Long Jacket: $109.99, after sale $169. We love a puffer, and the diamond-quilted pattern and internal cinch cord make this a little more fitted and fashionable. It’s a good length to wear over workout tights.
Zella Ruched Side Cotton Blend French Terry Sweatshirt: $45.99, after sale $69. We never imagined this would be a winner, yet we loved this sweatshirt once we got it on. It has a relaxed fit, yet the ruched sides give it shape. It’s made of supersoft cotton-blend French terry and is available in 4 colors. You’ll wear this all the time. I tried it on with jeans, and it’s a great everyday sweatshirt.
Zella Soft Luxe Wide Leg Scuba Pants: $54.99, after sale $79. Shown above with the ruched sweatshirt, these can be worn for yoga or lounging. We liked the wide legs, pockets, and drawstring waist.
And speaking of lounging, these Zella Soft Luxe High Waist Knit Shorts are made for relaxing. The 5” inseam is long enough to cover what needs to be covered. We didn’t want to take them off.
Shoes:
Stuart Weitzman Lottie Loafer: $329.00, after sale $425. These are the most comfortable loafers we’ve ever tried on!
Aquatalia Romeo Waterproof Bootie: $364.99, after sale $550. These check the boxes for comfort, waterproof, and chic.
Flabelus x Nordstrom Animal Print Ballet Flat: $159.99, after sale $237.60. This Spanish brand is peaking in popularity right now with their cute Mary Janes, especially in this animal print.
Puma Speedcat Ballet Suede Sneaker: $74.99, after sale $90 – $100. The sneakerina is definitely trending, and we were going to pass on the trend until we tried on these from Puma. They are super sturdy and comfortable, not at all flimsy.
New Balance 327 Sneaker: $79.99, after sale $104.99. This is one of our go-to travel sneakers.
New Balance 574 Sneaker: $79.99, after sale $99.99. Another one of our favorite travel shoes, the punchy blue color really caught our eye. These are also available in a great beige —we’d swap out the laces for something more neutral.
Vionic Winny Leather Sneaker: $89.99, after sale $145. If you haven’t tried Vionic, do yourselves a favor and give them a go. They have a patented technology that provides arch support, shock-absorbing cushioning, and a deep heel cup to promote stability and forefoot flexibility. We love this one in beige suede.
Vince Barcelona Jelly Cage Mule: $129.99, after sale $198.00. Jelly sandals are all over this summer; we tried on a few different brands, and this was the standout.
Accessories:
STAUD Mel Suede Shoulder Bag: $263.99, after sale $395. The online photo doesn’t show the long strap, and that’s what makes this bag a crossbody and super versatile! The brown suede is super soft.
Maison de Sabre Leather Mini Saddle Bag: $160.99, after sale $348. This is a great travel bag, precisely measured for your iPhone, wallet, keys, AirPods, and sunglasses. It’s available in some fun colors, and this sophisticated Australian brand rarely goes on sale.
Jewelry:
Lizzie Fortunato Glass Drift Pendant Necklace: $230.99, after sale $345. We’ve featured Lizzie Fortunato on FabList before, but hadn’t seen the products in person. Now, we love them more!
Bauble Bar Harlow Cuff Bracelet: $28.99, after sale $44. This is a cuff bracelet, but it looks like you’re wearing two bangles. Very sneaky.
Nordstrom Demi Fine Freshwater Pearl Drop Earrings: $44.99, after sale $70. These drop earrings caught our eye, and can be worn for everyday or dressed up. Excuse the expression—the troops were getting tired!
