FabList loves fall and all the fashion changes—sandals to loafers and boots, tees to sweaters, shorts to pants, and linen to wool and cashmere. It’s time to put away your summer clothes and add a few fresh items to your wardrobe. Here’s what we’d love to add to our closets.

Buck Mason:
- Felted Wool Chore Coat: I love this classic fit chore coat with a slimmer cut through the arms and room in the torso for layering. I especially like the three patch pockets—phone, glasses, and car keys!! The felted merino wool has been boiled twice to improve insulation and durability, and it is so soft and comfortable.
- Field Spec Boyfriend Cropped Rugby Crew: I tried this on and immediately wanted to buy it. It isn’t “cropped” like a crop top—it’s a relaxed, not-too-long fit, made from a thicker cotton jersey (not see-through at all). The neck is perfect, and the flat-knit rib cuffs give it an extra something. All three colors are perfect for fall.
- California Cashmere Polo Sweater: Another item I tried on and wanted in my wardrobe immediately. Inspired by traditional men’s cashmere polos, it’s designed with a cropped, boxy fit, full-length sleeves, and a classic polo collar with a functional buttoned placket with mother-of-pearl buttons. The length is perfect, and the shorter, cropped (but not a crop top) cut works great with jeans and trousers.
- At Ease Chino: Inspired by original 1940s utility pants, the At Ease Chino is the perfect khaki-type pant that’s so hard to find. Washed down to a soft, lived-in fabric, it features a mid-to-high rise, a roomy upper thigh, and a straight, full-length leg. It also has a Hollywood waistband (a trouser design where the waistband is cut as one continuous piece of fabric with the legs, eliminating the separate stitched-on band found on typical pants), slant side pockets, a welt coin pocket, double-welt back pockets, and a button-fly. I will live in these! Both the bark (brown) and stone (light beige) are winners. Size down.
Corduroys: I’m a sucker for cords. The ones I’m eyeing this fall are the Nili Lotan Shon Corduroys in Stone (size down) and the Madewell Low Rise Loose Pant in Ivy.
Houndstooth Pants: I also love houndstooth, especially pants. Sezane has nailed it this fall with the Dan Trousers—patch pockets on the front and a straight leg/wide fit — and the Herri Trousers in Moss Green Herringbone.
Sweaters: We love sweater weather! I’m loving all the polo sweaters, especially this argyle one and this gorgeous blue-and-brown striped crewneck sweater from Reformation.
Plaid Blouse: Nothing gets you in the mood for fall faster than a plaid flannel shirt, and no one does it better than Rails. The Hunter Shirt in Almond Plaid and the Hunter Plaid Long Sleeve Shirt in Plum Cream pair perfectly with jeans.
CHRISSIE’S LIST:
Ann Mashburn Buckle Shoes: On my recent trip to NYC, I fell for these shoes at the Ann Mashburn store, and they went immediately on my fall wish list. I’d wear them with jeans or trousers, or with a dress. The solid color options are great too. Another low-heeled flat that I could wear with jeans or a dress is these.
Ann Mashburn Faye Pants: During that same store visit, I tried these pants and loved them. From the image, they may look basic, but they are the pants I’d reach for constantly because they are so comfortable, look tailored yet can be dressed down, and are really well made. This is another great pair.
AYR The Deep End Heavy Silk Shirt: I love my cotton AYR Deep End shirts, and this version in a heavy silk comes in such beautiful colors that would be great for a night out with jeans, or the pants/jacket above. I feel like I’m building an outfit here :). If you have a bigger budget, this Comme Si silk shirt is so beautiful – love the green!
Comme Si Shirt: These shirts are just really beautiful in quality and color. Size down.
Brochu Walker Pia Shirt: This shirt is an investment for sure, but boy is it a good one. The cotton is beautiful, the “pre-styled, ruched sleeves” look and feel great, and the hem length and cut are just right. Comes in 18 color options. Size down. Their Everyday Shirt is also a good one (doesn’t have the pre-ruched sleeves).
Cashmere Sweater: I love this Quince oversized sweater – so cozy and a great neckline. I also recently spotted this polo sweater at Everlane, and it’s a great weight and the most beautiful shade of red – more of a persimmon color, actually.
Mules: I’d love a pair of slip-on loafer mules for fall. I also love these casual mules, which are SO DARN COMFY (and which are waaaaay more reasonable vs. the $1k version from The Row)! Quince also has these mule tennies that are also cool and comfy!
Parker Thatch Bag: Parker Hatch has a lot of bags that appeal to me, including their Daily Bag, this suede option, and this camo tote.
