It’s Deju Vu all over again! Polo and Rugby shirts (thank you Rugby World Cup) are back in force and we feel like we’re living in the early 80’s when the Preppy Handbook (Jo still has hers!) and the J. Crew catalog took the world by storm. Almost every store is carrying a version of these, albeit in a much more modern way. Polos and rugby shirts aren’t the stiff, conservative tops of the past – they’re now made from more than cotton (cashmere and tech fabrics), have different shapes (cropped or oversized), accoutrements (lace up or brass buttons), and are very fashion forward (Hailey Bieber and Taylor Swift are hot for this trend)! They’re the perfect partner to jeans (especially white) and shorts this summer and can be styled up or down. Here are our picks for the perfect polos and rugby shirts for 2024.

Frank & Eileen Popover $158: Chrissie just got this and loves it!! Comes in lots of colors and it’s made from a soft jersey material with a frayed hem.

Rugby Shirts:
Kule $118: Sporty and chic, meant to be an everyday tee worn alone, with a blazer, or under a sweater with the collar peaking out. Available seasonally in many colors.

Rugby Stripe Boatneck Shirt: Classic stripes and with a boat neck make this a winner.
