Jo and I are just back from an amazing trip to Patagonia and Buenos Aires with a group of 17 friends/partners. We will give an itinerary/breakdown of the trip in coming weeks (and a full packing list), but thought it’d be fun to ask everyone in our group what their general favorite travel accessory/item was. We all packed SUPER light so there wasn’t a lot of room for extras on this trip, but here are some of the items people really loved having on hand.
LL Bean Hunter Tote with zip: If you are doing a carry-on roller bag and want a good, big bag that fits a lot for your ‘overflow’ items this is a great option (in ‘large’ size)! If you put it on its side it fits under the seat as well.

Bose Headphones: I love my Bose over-ear headphones. If you are just trying to sleep they block out noise, and of course when watching movies or listening to a book they are terrific.

Vuori Meta Jogger Pants: These are comfortable, and are a step up from sweatpants so they can be worn on the plane, out to dinner or pretty much any time.

Lunya Sleep Mask: This mask works well on the plane for sure, but also in the refuges where we slept in shared bunk rooms! This one is great as it wraps over your ears so there isn’t a strap digging in anywhere, and it helps blocks noise as well as light. (Chrissie loves her Quince silk one as well as it’s super cushy/soft – used it on the plane).

Patagonia Capeline Shirt: This keeps you warm when you’re cold, and then magically keeps you cool when you need it to do that! It’s lightweight, drys quickly, and offers good sun protection – a good one! Available for men or women.

Lululemon Everywhere Bag: Keep your passport, money and other small valuables close at hand/on your body with this uber-popular little bag.

Mack’s Earplugs: These are the best earplugs. They mold to fit your ear and don’t fall out like many plugs do. You can get them in child’s size (work for some women) or adult size.

Buff: Buffs are great for hiking trips as they are so versatile. When worn around your neck they keep you warm, and if it’s windy/colder you can pull them up as a face mask, or use as a headband to keep your ears warm. When it’s really windy, as it was on our trip, it can be used as a headband to hold hair in place or put on top of a baseball hat to keep it from blowing off. This Vuori headband also was great to put around a baseball cap to keep it from flying off in the wind!

Double Duty Comfy Plane Travel Pants: Joanne loved traveling in her Rag & Bone Miramar sweatpant ‘jeans’. They are sweatpants that are printed to look like jeans! She wore them on the plane and out to dinner/in evenings. (Note: Gap recently introduced their own ‘sweatpant jeans’ a couple weeks ago and they sold out immediately…but you can get on their waitlist). Chrissie loved wearing her Lake lounge pants (the bottom half of this set) on the plane (so comfy for an 11+ hr flight), and they doubled as pj’s to save on packing an extra item. A+.

Good Multi-Adapter Travel Plug: Having one adapter that you can use in multiple countries really simplifies things, and this one is great as it has USB slots in it as well so you can charge multiple items at once.

Serenity Airplane Seat Organizer: When traveling coach, this seat organizer is a dream, letting you have everything you need right in front of you. No need to dig under the seat in front of you or through the grimy seat pocket to get your phone, water bottle or Kindle!

SunBum Sunscreen Face Stick: Use on your face, your body and your lips. Plus it’s not a liquid so it won’t spill.
