We loved putting together our Holiday gift guides for you! From In-Laws to Best Girlfriends to Young Adults and more – it was so fun to scour the marketplace and put together these FabLists. Now that the dust has settled, we thought it might be fun for you to see what we bought our family and friends and in turn what we received this year.
Joanne:
Gifts Given:
My main gift for my extended family this year was a photo book I put together from a family trip we took last Christmas to South Africa. I made it with Mixbook and loved making it. Mixbook makes it very easy to upload photos and create a memorable book with itineraries, photos, and more. This gift covered a lot of recipients: sister, sister-in-law, brothers, nephews, husband, and kids!

We’ve pared down Christmas the past few years and have taken family trips in lieu of gifts. That said, there were some little trinkets under the tree for family and I love picking things up on travel, etc. to give to girlfriends.
My Husband:
Serotonin Soak: He loves hot tubbing and baths so this was a hit and has been in use daily since.

Bigger Daypack: We are going on a hiking trip next month and he needs a bigger day pack to carry some of my things!

Our Daughter:
Dyson Cordless Vacuum: Bought on Black Friday sale, this gift was her dream come true!

Our Son:
Patagonia Rain Jacket: Our 28-year old was wearing his raincoat from high school that is tattered and falling apart!

Wildlife Photographer of the Year: Volume 34: This book is an annual gift from an incredible yearly exhibit/contest that Chrissie turned us onto years ago!

There and Back: Photographs from the Edge: Another book, this one by Jimmy Chin, the Academy Award–winning director of Free Solo and National Geographic photographer.

Stocking Stuffers:
Cocofloss: A better floss!

Travel Electric Toothbrush: Complete with a case, a great travel toothbrush.

OXO Laptop Cleaner: Contains a sweeper for crumbs and dust and a swiper to clean the screen.

Marvis Toothpaste: Judge a toothpaste by its tube! Fun Italian toothpaste in fun flavors like licorice, anise, ginger and more.

Nieces/In-Laws:
LL Bean Hunter Tote Monogrammed: My sister gave one to me years ago and I use it all the time. This one was black with a subtle black monogram but the green and the camo are also great options!

Harry & David Pears: A reliable stand-by. Who doesn’t love the Royal Riviera Pears!

Friend Groups’ Gifts:
Serotonin Soak: These gals all love to bathe!

Quince Cashmere Gloves: A different color for each person.

Harris Tweed Coin Purse from Scotland (similar one found at Amazon) with packets of Alka-Seltzer Hangover Relief Tablets.

Crate & Barrel Chocolate Covered Grahams: So good!

Gifts Received:
Goldbelly Food: John’s sister/husband always sends us an array of food from Goldbelly and it is so appreciated! This year we received bagels from Essa NYC, cookies/brownies from Brooklyn Blackout Company, and meat from Snake River Ranch. All fantastic!

Crate & Barrel Glasses: More Bodega glasses to complete my set!

Lodge Cast Iron Skillet: I love cooking in cast iron and needed the 12” size.

Evie Flameless Tea Lights: Designed specifically for glassybaby, a FabList favorite votive candle holder, these elegant flameless rechargeable tea lights will make your votives come alive.

Shiatsu Neck and Back Massager: I’m fighting with my husband over this!

Herno Emelia Jacket: I’ve been looking, looking, looking for a black one and my sister surprised me with this favorite jacket!

Babor: Ampoules of serums for hydrating, illuminating, and firming!

Ceramic Goat Jug: This little beauty is so cute!

Diptyque Candles: Can never have enough of these on hand!

Provence Sante Soap: A nice break from pump soap!

Homes From Our Time: Coffee table book of Contemporary homes from around the World!

Chrissie:
I’ve only included things that didn’t get returned and were really well-liked! I’ve also tried to include some well-received stocking stuffers items as well.
My Husband:
Peter Millar Quarter Zip Sweater. His uniform.

Wine Glasses. A new set was needed and these from Quince are terrific.

Life is Good Tees. These (the thin or ‘lite’ ones) are his favorite and this year I got him two plain ones as well as one ‘graphic’ one. Great value and have gotten a lot of wear already.

Keen Boots. For walking the dog on wet grass, these are the best waterproof, easy-to-get-on/off boots. Have gotten daily use since being opened.

Photo Calendar for Upcoming Year. It’s a tradition!

2025 Swarovski Ornament. Also a tradition.

My Kids – mid to late 20’s.
I’ll group these all together!
Artwork. I framed some family artwork (done by an artist relative of ours) for each of them to have forever (nice frames from a frame store, not the Target variety). Was my favorite gift given this year.
Stainless mixing bowls with lids (similar to these) and good pyrex storage containers! This was a random, practical one that was a big hit! Each child choose the sizes they needed/wanted.

JCrew Fisherman’s Sweater. Looks great – and is currently on sale.

A mini blender. Given upon request!

Bombas Sunday Slippers (currently sold out, but mule version shown)

Cat Coasters. A random one, but I loved these and so did my cat-lover son!

Abercrombie Sweatshirts and Pants. The sweatshirts look vintage and so comfy. I got one too as a gift and love it. The pants were also a hit.

Uniqlo Jacket. Looks really sleek and nice. A definite step up from a sweatshirt!

Everyone got a different nice body wash (this, this, and this) and scrubbers. Something they’d never get for themselves.

Quince Wine Glasses. A different shape than the ones I gave my husband.

This toy got tons of use over the break. Kind of addictive to hold/squish/throw around.

Brother:
Wooden jigsaw puzzle – we grew up with these and love them. Pieces have specific shapes.

Sister:
Vintage earrings
Roz hair serum and Hanni Splash Salve

Sister-in-Law:
Quince cashmere sweater. Great everyday basic.

Quince Underwear. Seems like an odd gift, but she is now replacing her underwear drawer with these!

Father-in-Law:
Book An Unfinished Love Story: A Personal History of the 1960’s

‘Questions to ask your grandfather’ boxed set. Sold out, similar here.

Nieces/Nephew

Kids’ Significant Others:
Bombas Sunday Slippers (currently sold out, but mule version shown)

Things I was given:
Beautiful necklace! That was a nice surprise! (sold out)
Perfect White Tees in white and gray. My favorites and the gray is SO soft.

New Fuzzy Birkenstocks. Replaced old ones, with brown this time.

Lake PJ/Lounge Set. SO comfy.

Owala water bottle. Love it.

Roma Heirloom Tomato Candle (Flamingo Estate). Smells divine.

A stretchy ‘Swedish fish’ stress toy that you play with. It sits on my desk and I ‘fidget’ with it all day while working.

Levain Cookies. Our sister-in-law sent these for Christmas Eve dinner. SO GOOD. Big hit!
