There’s always a lot of activity in the fall as we settle in after summer. Chrissie has a school reunion to attend, Jo’s volunteer work kicks into gear with lots of meetings, weekends mean football games and tailgates, and all activities require major clothing decisions! What to wear??
We have some ideas for you. Any of these looks can be mixed and matched – and worn day or night depending on the event – but we are going for casual, comfortable, and of course with a little chic thrown in.
Look 1:
A casual look yet pulled together with a checked blazer. Start with this pair of jeans from Mother with the frayed hem. Use a simple white tee, like this one from Gap, and layer it under a denim shirt, and top with this blazer from J. Crew (blazer in photo above sold out). For accessories, try a suede handbag – this crossbody is good looking and practical – and some loafers, in leather or suede.
Look 2:
Pair the Nili Lotan Shun pant with a chic blouse like this from Isabel Marant. A long trench from Alex Mill is a great topper. Pull it all together with a great pair of boots like these and a crossbody from Strathberry.
Look 3:
The on trend Barrel Cut jean is perfect for a casual look. Pair with this checked blouse and top with a cropped trench from & Other Stories for a pulled together look. We love this MZ Wallace Crossbody paired with these stylish Chelsea boots.
Look 4:
If you’re looking for a one-and-done dress, try this denim dress. If you need a coat, top with this cropped trench. Loafers or tennis shoes both work and finish off with a crossbody bag.
Look 5:
For a look that can move into evening, try this stunning Veronica Beard Liberty Dress. Another one-and-done! Throw on some suede boots, carry a coordinating tote, and finish it off with a coordinating poncho.
Look 6:
We love this look! Wide leg trousers in solid or a thin pinstripe, topped with an oversized cashmere turtleneck, which can be worn alone or with a perfect white blouse underneath. We are also loving the oversized short sleeve cashmere sweater trend – again, wear alone or with the white blouse underneath. Finish off with a bootie or slingback.
Look 7:
For a more tailored pant look, go for Ponte Pants! If you missed our feature on these updated ‘stretch pants’ you can find it here. Pair these with a blazer, slingbacks, and a colorful clutch and you’re ready to go.
Look 8:
If you need a dressier look, try this leopard dress and top it with a cropped jacket. Pair with knee high boots and a statement bag.
